About God
We believe in the one living and true God—holy, loving, eternal, and unlimited in power, wisdom, and goodness. He is the creator and preserver of all things. Within this unity are three persons of one essential nature, power, and eternity: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
About Jesus Christ
Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary; he is simultaneously truly God and truly man. He died on the cross and was buried to be a living sacrifice both for original sin and all human transgressions and to reconcile us to God. Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. There, he intercedes for us at the Father’s right hand until God returns to judge all humanity.
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and Son as God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides us with power for living, with wisdom to understand spiritual truths, and with guidance to do what is right.
About People
People are made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character. Although we have tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God, or “sin.” This attitude separates us from God.
About the Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to all people. Human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote it. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is God-breathed and God-inspired, it is truth without errors.
About Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to us. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus as God’s offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus by faith into our lives.
About Eternity
We are created to exist forever. We will either be eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is life in heaven.
